Seeing Jesus in your child

By Kristy Solis
For those who have been blessed to know and embody Jesus, it is easy to recognize Jesus around them and in others. Have you ever seen Jesus in a child?
For children, it comes so naturally and effortlessly. If you pay attention to your children, you will see Jesus. I challenge you to watch your children or other children, in play or in everyday ordinary life; you will be amazed.
Scripture tells us to be more like children: “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).
Recently, my daughter was recognized for an award at her school. There was a statement by her teacher that was emphasized, “Let your love of God and others continue to shine.” As young as my daughter is, she knows and embodies Jesus while sharing this light with others.
After the ceremony, I told my daughter “I would have said the same about you.” My daughter said to me, “You know it goes both ways. I feel it from others such as my teachers, my family and my friends.”
Although challenging, if we all embodied Jesus, this world would be a better place.
Lord, hear our prayers for our children that they may continue to walk and shine in the light of Jesus. Help these children to know your word and grow in faith every day. Also, encourage these children to share this light with the world – for they are the hope of our future.
