Sisterly Love

By Kristy Solis
Our family was blessed with daughters – a set of sisters. It is a joy to observe these sisters as they flourish in their sisterly bond. Their relationship, just like their faith, is one of love and devotion.
The sisters even sing a song which they adapted to their connection: “You can count on me like one, two, three, and I’ll be there; I can count on you like four, three, two, and you’ll be there because that’s what sisters are for. “
As a parent, it always makes me pause to reflect on a blessing of sisters that they have each other.
My hope as a parent is these siblings will continue to be devoted to one another in love, and also honor one another above each other, even when I have parted this earth.
Lord, hear our prayers for siblings. Always remind them to lean on you to instill divine wisdom and to fill them with grace and kindness to serve each other.
Remind them, as in Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
