Is God Listening?

By Kristy Solis

Have you ever felt like you were waiting for something? Yet, you are not sure what it may be?

In so many ways, life can feel like this.  As we journey through this pandemic, we are waiting for so many norms to occur; yet, time is just passing by quickly.

So much of our lives we have waited for something, especially for prayers to be answered.  It is human nature – we do not like to wait. We want immediate resolution and even question, “Lord, are you listening to me?”

It is the same for children. My daughter said, “I know so many people who are praying during this pandemic. Is God listening?”

I assured her that we need to trust that the Lord is working while we are waiting. His ways are greater than anything we can ever imagine.

I encouraged my daughter to count the blessings, to serve when she is able and to continue to hope as we continue through this pandemic.

As stated in Isaiah 55:8-9, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

During these moments in time that we have doubt and we are impatient, Lord hear our prayers to hold these moments in your hands. Reveal to us what we can do to serve you and others as we wait.

Remind us to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation and be constant in prayer (Romans 12:12).
