Unshakable Faith

By Kristy Solis

As we continue this journey through this pandemic, today marks approximately 60 days of shelter in place for our family.  During this time, we have learned as a family that it is important to pause, to reflect, to have faith and to keep moving forward.

I challenge you to stop and think, during this past month what has changed or what has not changed for your family?

When I reflect on what has changed for our family, once upon a time, we had a routine, every day was the same, rise and shine – what is on the agenda for today?  It could had been a simple work and school day followed by extracurriculars or it could had been a complex day of rushing around especially during a weekend to fit everything in to accomplish our plans.

Today, we have a new routine. We are fortunate that my husband and I still work, and that our children still attend school, even if it is home school.  It is a routine that is simple, back to the basics of a family unit without plans. Hence, surviving this heartbreaking pandemic, we need to count our blessings.

Then, I reflect on what has not changed for our family. A constant in our lives is our family’s unshakable faith. It is normal to wonder, “Will God answer my prayers?”; “Will God provide for me?”; and “Does God see all the pain?”

Through faith, the answer to all of these questions is a resounding yes! God is never shaken, so your faith should be unshakable.

Lord, as we continue on this journey, hear our prayer. “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress,
I will never be shaken” (Psalm 62:1-2).
