Chances to Pray

By Kristen Bourgeois
Recognizing my life has changed, I realized I had to adapt my prayer life to fit family life. I’ve always loved my time in the adoration chapel with a great devotional book. But adjusting to life with a newborn and a 3-year-old has changed my ability to do that. I can’t always make it to the adoration chapel. So, I’ve had to adapt, and I’ve found some really cool resources to continue my prayer life.
Here are some of my favorite resources:
- Laudate. I love this app. It has everything! I really enjoy the audio of the daily readings and reflections. They even have the rosary and other chaplets that are audible. I don’t always have time to sit and read. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t pray because my life is chaotic right now. Listening and praying while I’m nursing, making school lunch or driving from here and there has been a great way to keep prayer a part of everyday life.
- www.praymorenovenas.com This is a brilliant idea! I tend to forget to finish a novena, not on purpose, but because life can get hectic! Here is the solution! Sign up on the website and you get an email reminder with the prayer for the novena for the day. I’ll never not complete a novena again.
- Blessed is She. This is a community of women that does a fantastic job with daily devotions, Bible studies, blogs, videos, retreats, etc. I look forward to the “Teachable Tuesday” videos found on their Facebook page.
- Surprised by Marriage. Now, this isn’t a prayer resource per say. But, this is a local Catholic New Orleans couple who give tips on how to keep your marriage your top priority. It’s great to see a young Catholic couple sharing their struggles and their faith. All of their topics are so relatable. I especially like their #marriagemondaychallenge.
What prayer apps or other resources are you using now to enrich your faith?
